PANZER ACES Profiles II, German Tanks Camouflage 1943-1945 (Accion Press/Euromodelismo)

This is the second Volume of Panzer Aces Profiles by the Spanish publisher Accion Press – Euromodelismo. The previous title on the subject, from Pz.1 to Panzer IV covered the 1935 – 1943 period. Since the first publishing in 2003 new research and knowledge has allowed this second edition on a controversial and speculation-filled theme of camouflage. New material is provided with pictorial interpretations, especially regarding schemes used during 1944 to 1945. Many details that we took for granted regarding camouflage schemes have been re-examined in the light of new information.

More than 200 color highly detailed profiles are included regarding schemes used by German Armoured Vehicles from 1943 to April 1945. This period saw the apex of armoured vehicles design, with the most highly evolved vehicles entering service. You will find all the necessary information required to paint all your modelling projects involving Panther, Tiger I and Tiger II.

This book shows a wide range of camouflages from May 1943 when the regulation H.M: 1943 Nr.181 was widespread, to more elaborated camouflage designed for blending with the local terrain or to disrupt the outline of the vehicle. From imaginative schemes known as Ambush, Hinterhalt or Ambrust, which attempted to create confusion between the lights and shadows that the forest produced, to the significant hodgepodge produced by the lack of raw material components.

You will find the answer to many difficult questions about zimmerit, degradation, weathering, strange/obscure colours, and many more in this book through more than the 200 profiles (and some interesting cutaways too) that have been made starting with contemporary photographs, obtained from the publications included in the bibliography. Each profile comes with an explanatory caption and printed color chips. In fact you will be so fascinated by the wealth of information and profiles that we suspect you will need to increase the quantity of Panther & Tiger kits already in your stash!

The volume is 104 pages long, of all color, glossy, heavy stock magazine type paper with a front and back cover made from an even heavier stock to give the publication a much sturdier binding that should hold up well over the years. The title also includes emblems used by various units, whether HEER units, Luftwaffe and Waffen SS.
