Bristol Beaufighter: 81 years since first flight (July 1939)

One of the first true multi-role heavy fighters/bombers of WW2, the Bristol Beaufighter first flew on 17th July 1939 and when main production ceased at the end of the War (in fact some months later), almost 6000 numbers had been built.

The 1/72 scale new tool (2015) Airfix kit is excellent but be careful with the Tamiya 1/48 kit as there are some errors, which need to be corrected. Revell's 1/32 scale tooling dates back to 1974 and that means a lot of work!

The new (2018) Revell kit is well detailed in 1/48 scale.

Sentimental blasts from the Past are the old (70s) Matchbox, Airfix & Frog kits in 1/72 scale.
